Following your visit to Cynth Weyman’s studio, she will be able to direct you on foot to see a wide selection of local and touring artists and makers works in King Street’s Arts Quarter and beyond.
There are several galleries and arts collectives in the town centre from King Street to Blue Street (from Oriel Myrddin to Peace Gallery & Tea Rooms opposite the bus station).
The Town Council recently published Cynth’s Arts Trail & Culture article in The Carmarthen Town Guide. The green brochure includes useful information about local culture, history, the Arts, shopping, eating & drinking plus entertainment for your visit to this historic town. It also includes Cynth Weyman’s advert but plese rememebr I have moved from Blue St. A great day out awaits you.
Why not book today for 2 hourly summer family workshops or long term autumn sessions. I specialise in working with 1-3 people at my gallery.
For more details, please text me on 07772820313 with suggested dates and times. I’ll then send you a list of what to bring. We’ll discuss your particular interests to ensure that you create a picture that means a lot to you.
First picture will be a quick technique session followed by you creating a family heirloom of you own.
I change the artwork in the gallery, every 6 weeks - so there's always something different to explore! Don't be shy pop in.
The window display only shows a small sample. See what's coming up in the future months
Occasionally I have to work off site so apologies if I’ve missed you. You are invited to contact me on 07772820313 to arrange another time to visit my gallery. Working alongside printers and framers are just a couple of tasks that have to be done elsewhere.
Like other artists, finding inspiration takes us on many journeys. My next collection will include local castles, estuary beaches and anything that we generally miss in our busy lives.
My usual opening times are Wed-Sat 10am-4pm. Occasionally I open for extra times. If travelling especially to the gallery, it’s best to check Seasonal Hours first. If you’re in town, see if my plants are outside. I’m inside creating another artwork.
Just celebrated three years at my inspired 2 collect gallery in Carmarthen. During this time, I have been invited for solo exhibitions at Y Ffwrness Theatre Llanelli called ‘Creative Journeys’ and ‘Colours Drew Me In’ at The National Assembly of Wales Cardiff Bay. Also, group shows at the Powerhouse Gallery Llandysul, Swansea Festival of Stitch Waterfront Museum; Fishguard Arts Society Tregwynt Mansion and Art at Waunifor Maes Y Crugiau. Hence my need to work off site occasionally. No wonder, time has flown so quickly!
S4C TV filmed for two hours in my gallery for a four minute slot on Prynhawn Da. Yes – I speak Welsh too. Hapus i siarad Cymraeg. Recently been involved in offering S4C ideas for future programmes and as an audience member for ‘Pawb Ei Farn’ too (bit like BBC’s Question Time).
Intaglio Strati workshops have continued with 1 or 2 people at a time in the gallery. Most participants create up to three artworks. They learn about design, colour, fabrics and how to transform a painting or photograph into a textile picture or art quilt.
Please see pages ‘Exhibitions’ and ‘Collections’ for more details.
‘Reflections’ Exhibition at Powerhouse Gallery Llandysul
April 24th – 8th May 2017
Christiana Rattner invited professional and amateur artists to exhibit a group show at this small but popular gallery. She attends local painting workshops and my Intaglio Strati sessions and is working hard at establishing herself as an artist and coordinator of special projects. She has certainly found her creativity – congratulations on her first experience of curating a special show – not an easy task.
