Being a Fine Art & Textile artist has recently led me to designing limited edition 'my posh scarves' and running my solo gallery in Carmarthen called inspired 2 collect. Paint and textiles have always been my passion and have worked in the arts all my life through teaching, community arts and tourism in Wales, Engand and abroad. Studied in Llanelli School of Art, Caerleon College of Education and the Open University. Developed and named my own textile releif technique as Intaglio Strati - now writing the book.

Cynth Weyman – Current Gallery Exhibition

September-October 2016 Exhibition
Current artworks include:
Recently finished ‘Rock Man Swiming: Ceibwr Bay’ joins ‘Rock Woman’ series. Afterall – we must have equal opportunites for rocks too! One man is building a wall for his giclee print of ‘Mechanics World of Freedom’ – pretty impressive eh? See the original and print this month too.

Intaglio Strati textile relief ‘Another Amazing Sunset: Pwllgwaelod’ celebrating the incredible sunset just before the recent eclipse of the moon, is now in the window alongside its water-colour. Special artworks for special walls.

Third limited edition collection of ‘my posh sacrves’ in silk also joins the exhibition. Ideas for Christmas come to many folks minds already. Special fashion pieces for special people.

Inspired 2 Collect Gallery in Carmarthen is on route between the train/bus stations and Marks & Spencer. Please see Home page for Seasonal Opening Hours.

Student Lock In: For one evening only on Tuesday 27th September, the gallery will be open 6-9pm offering special deals and talks about my artworks. I’m next to TSB. See bright pink posters around Carmarthen town for details of how to get involved and what you need to paticipate. Look forward to meeting you.

Cynth Weyman – Itchy Fingers Colour workshop

Itchy Fingers textile group from Gorseinon invited me to run a day's Intaglio Strati workshop to initiate their 'Colour' theme for next year's exhibition tour. Members were mainly responsible for the Swansea Festival of Stitch. Running such an event was wonderful as they were extremely keen. For a while, you could hear a pin drop as everyone was so busy. Ideas were buzzing and happily shared. What a day!

Another Amazing Sunset

‘Another Amazing Sunset’ – latest Intaglio Strati textile relief and watercolour painting are finally completed after 4 months work. They are on the gallery wall this month.

If you’re looking for a large special artwork for that special wall, this is it!

Enjoy an ‘Adventure in Colour’

Create an Intaglio Strati Heirloom as part of the year of Adventure.

I’m running special taster sessions in the gallery between 10.30am-3.30pm on Saturdays. Why not wet the appetite for colour and texture?

Discover how I choose my colours and transform a painting into fabrics, and create a mini textile relief for you to complete at home.

Please bring a few pieces of re-usable fabric (A4 size) to contribute to the basket – a creative way to de-clutter! I’ll be de-cluttering too, so the rest is provided.

Book your slot now to suit your time in town.

Free admission but donations are welcome towards Wales Air Ambulance.

These sessions are in collaboration with #Visit Wales Year of Adventure, #Find Your Epic, #Carmarthenshire Tourist Association and #Visit Carmarthenshire.

And if you get hooked, why not book 1:1 or 1:2 people master classses for the serious textile maker/s who wishes to get more involved. Ask about sessions for visiting holidaymakers too!

My Posh Scarves 3rd Collection

‘My Posh Scarves’ 3rd collection is almost complete and I’m asking visitors to the gallery to name the collection.

Some will be in the gallery in June ( & maybe even May if things go smoothly).

I’ll be creating more limited edition pure silk scarves to suit your desires and, thanks to the feedback I’ve received, in addition to standard styes, lengths and shawls, I’m now creatinge short jacket and infinity scarves plus matching silk woggles to keep this luscious fabric on your shoulders.

The ‘Sheer Opulence’ collection is almost sold out so if you’ve seen one in the window and wish to purchase it, best to buy it today to avoid disappointment!
