Extra events this month include a major solo exhibition in Llanelli. Thanks to manager Carwyn Matera Rogers and curator Michele Laugharne Perrott of Theatr Ffwrness,  who invited  me to exhibit a solo collection called ‘Creative Journeys’ (February 28th – 8th April). Pre performance ‘Meet the Artist’ events also run on March 11th, 16th, 18th, 21st, 30th.

I love being part of a team working in state of the art theatres. Contemporary architecture, staff involvement and a theatrical buzz compliments my themed artworks for this exciting event. Definitely a dramatic presentation this time. Please see News/Events for detailed updates.

From my traditional watercolour Paintings,  I transform images  into contemporary Intaglio Strati Panels and Quilts – a technique developed and named myself. I always start with colour.

‘Cynth’s collection is a feast for the eyes’ say many visitors.

Up to 15 layers of luscious Rajasthan silks, fine wools and cottons are carved to create a high textile relief. Some pictures are enhanced with hand embroidery. I also create high quality limited edition themed collections of ‘my posh scarves’ in silk, giglee prints, blank cards and mugs.

Have you seen ‘Another Amazing Sunset: Pwllgwaelod’? My watercolour painting is transformed into beautifil silk and cotton fabrics with gold embroidery? It took four months to create. This image records the stunning oranges and golds of the  evening sky just before the recent eclipse of the moon. Very special indeed – just could not resist.

‘Quite unique and very different’ – say many gallery visitors.

‘Welsh artist Cynth Weyman transforms her paintings into mulit layered textile landscapes, seascapes and figures which are striking, emotive, full of colour, narrative, emotion and beautiful…they draw the viewer into a memorable and magical place’ says Michele Laugharne Perrott (Theatr Ffwrness curator and fellow artist)

When my plants are outside, I’m inside creating another artwork. Don’t be shy – come and see how one media is transformed into another. I’m happy to be disturbed!

I change the exhibitions every 6 weeks so there’s always something new to see.

‘Visiting the gallery is a true colour experience – can be quite mind blowing, so best to allow time to absorb her collections, use of colour and design’ – J Brocklhurst (Bristol)

You can even create your own heirloom artwork in 1:1 sessions.

‘Cynth can also help you find something special for that very special person or feature wall. A great welcome and she is happy to speak Welsh too’ – J Williams (Cardiff).

Between February 28th – 8th April, I also have a special solo exhibition at Theatr Ffwrness Llanelli called ‘Creative Journeys’ – a colourful feast for the eyes. Meet the Artist sessions with pre-theatr performance audiences run on March 11th, 16th, 18th, 21st & 30th.
