Cynth Weyman

Inspired 2 Collect Gallery, Carmarthen

Fine Art, Textile Art Reliefs & Fashion Design

Open Wednesdays – Saturdays 10am-4pm

Other times by arrangement (Text/phone 07772820313).

Before travelling, please check ‘Seasonal Opening Hours’ at the base of this page as I occasionally work off site.

From my traditional watercolour Paintings,  I transform images  into contemporary Intaglio Strati Panels and Quilts – a technique developed and named myself. I always start with colour.

‘Cynth’s collection is a feast for the eyes’ say many visitors.

Up to 15 layers of luscious Rajasthan silks, fine wools and cottons are carved to create a high textile relief. Some pictures are enhanced with hand embroidery. I also create high quality limited edition themed collections of ‘my posh scarves’ in silk, giglee prints, blank cards and mugs.

Have you seen ‘Another Amazing Sunset: Pwllgwaelod’ transformed from watercolours into beautifil silk and cotton fabrics with gold embroidery? It took four months to create. This image records the stunning oranges and golds of the  evening sky just before the recent eclipse of the moon. Very special indeed – just could not resist.

‘Quite unique and very different’ – say many gallery visitors.

‘Welsh artist Cynth Weyman transforms her paintings into mulit layered textile landscapes, seascapes and figures which are striking, emotive, full of colour, narrative, emotion and beautiful…they draw the viewer into a memorable and magical place’ says Michele Laugharne Perrott (Theatr Ffwrness curator and fellow artist)

Cynth Weyman’s Inspired 2 Collect solo artist gallery and studio is in Carmarthen town centre – next to TSB, opposite Honey Pots and close to Blue Street Bus Station.

Nero’s Cafe, Post Office, Marks & Spencers, Guildhall and Nott Square are near too. I’m also on route from the railway station.

King Street arts quarter and Mansel Street are short walks away  I can direct you on a further Arts Trail – a route full of culture.

Car Parks, Merlin Walk and Catherine Walk shopping centres are within walking distance too. If you purchase my artworks, there’s a loading bay opposite the gallery.

Tips: If travelling specially to the gallery, please check ‘Seasonal Opening Hours’ below. Best to call in on your arrival rather than rush to the car park bus or train at the end of your visit to the town. There’s a lot to see in this tiny gallery.

Don’t be shy – pop into the gallery and see how one media is transformed into another. I’m happy to be disturbed! Welcome to browse.

Hapus is siarad Cymraeg hefyd.

I change the exhibitions every 6 weeks so there’s always something new to see.

‘Visiting the gallery is a true colour experience – can be quite mind blowing, so best to allow time to absorb her collections, use of colour and design’ – J Brocklhurst (Bristol)

‘I love your window displays too, always well balanced with richly coloured artworks and scarves. Also love seeing your plants outside –  makes my day’ – Chris (Lampeter)

You can even create your own heirloom artwork in 1:1 sessions.

‘Cynth can also help you find something special for that very special person or feature wall. A great welcome and she is happy to speak Welsh too’ – J Williams (Cardiff).
